SOUNDSLIKE WERK
a (quite literally) underground event in south central london
to take place on saturday december 4th
between the hours of 10pm - 6am
@ a covert south london location
hear a fanfare sound in your brain, heart and groin, as the meeting of minds
between Matthew Herbert's soundslike and south London's werk labels
undertakes its latest incarnation. pre-empting the xmas rush of the usual
seasonal stocking-fillers, here we present to you, humble music-fan, our
medley of musical excitement. two rooms, hosted by two differing labels of
some repute, peddling their wares for the general enjoyment of all. forsake
your pretensions of DJ superstars and overpaid ingrates peddling inflated
foppery. let us forget for a moment the marketing hype and aggressive sales
pitches of clubland.
our acts will only be announced on the night. but whether it's prince
charles playing glitch-hop or gary wilmott recreating the battle of
agincourt via the medium of shadow puppets, we hope you trust our judgement.
it's special for us and we sincerely hope it's the same for you. here
follows the vaguest breakdown of the evening's entertainment:
room 1 - hosted by soundslike
featuring residents from the 'soundslike sound', plus a live performance
from
someone you may have heard of, and a distinguished discjockey guest of no
small reputation. line up like cannon fodder and dance like idiots to the
uk's finest housebound technological music.
room 2 - hosted by werk
featuring po-faced residents, live performances from fresh meat on werkdiscs
and a special guest or two, werk put the wonk back into w@nk with their
supporting cast of live unadulterated squid'n'bass and squonkcore.
sales notes:
due to licensing issues, there are strictly only 300 tickets available for
this special south London event. nor can we sell tickets on the door.
tickets are £8 up 'til and including 31 October and £10 thereafter. however,
promotion will be conducted in a minimal fashion. so, if you please, secure
