hi- i'm in an experimental / dark ambient group, ricky the steamboat, and we're looking to start sending out our demos. i was wondering if some of you guys would be so kind as to give the demo a listen and let me know what you think. also, we're trying to figure out what labels would be interested in this kind of stuff, because we're not quite sure. you can download the demo here (it's about 44mb...sorry): http://invergo.aboleo.net/music/rts.htm any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks, brandon invergo __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi Yes I did give it a listen but maybe you should post into the idm-making list (at hyperreal too) for a real review. I mean what am I supposed to say? I did like it, and the tracks are very 'ambient' if that does mean anything to you. First time I listened to them I was going to bed, trying to catch some sleep. And the sounds are really supporting such a plan. It feels like you were planning to make music with the same cahracter a big river has, floating through the country. But without any waterfalls or even stones in it. This reminds me of the "moldau" from Betrich Smetana, a symphony following the river called Moldau from its spring to its end, but as I said your tracks don`t have any peacks or sudden changes. Thats nothing bad. I don't miss them but thats`s what I feel listening to them. So it is as always a matter of taste. Sok Brandon Invergo schrieb:

hi, i guess no IDM-maker would have posted a comment like that. and i guess that's why people keep posting links to their demos here. it's often more valuable to get the oppinion of an actual listener than some nerdy comment on strange patches or the coolest softsynths. cheers, martin Date: Mon, 12 Jul 2004 18:22:38 +0200 To: "idm@hyperreal.org" <idm@hyperreal.org> From: sokela <alekos.bibudis@s1998.tu-chemnitz.de> Subject: Re: [idm] ricky the steamboat Message-ID: <40F2BACE.4050506@s1998.tu-chemnitz.de> Hi Yes I did give it a listen but maybe you should post into the idm-making list (at hyperreal too) for a real review. i definitely appreciated this review. i think you've got a very good point. i was soliciting for reviews on the musical content of the songs, not the technical prowress (which is, of course, mighty) of the producers. thanks for all the feedback and the listens... brandon invergo (.5 ricky the steamboat) --- Martin Stummer <Martin_Stummer@HBI.de> wrote:
