I used to have some tapes he did on Kiss FM from about 92. The show was a last ditch attempt at retaining credibility called 'keeping it real' or something where they would invite decent djs to play in the small hours and play Kiss jingles really loud all over their sets. He kept complaining about it on air. But those tapes were still gold - last seen in St Petersburg in 93 (hopefully many copies were made). It was classic home listening stuff from Black Dog to Dr. John. If anyone has any decent recordings of those sessions, drop me a line. -- http://noiseloop.com electronic music info hub --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Weatherall is to some legendary as a DJ. Like most 20 year veterans, technique is second nature and he focuses on mixing a musical set. He has a trick I've never seen anyone else try -- he will backspin a record and when it reverses it comes back in on beat. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I've seen quite a few people do that one. Was a very popular move with late 80's/early 90's rave DJs. For DJ tricks my favourite was always Claude Youngs trick of putting his record on top of a cotton reel, flipping the headshell upside down, and playing it backwards [in time]. He is a bit of a show off that Mr Young... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
