I've been on this list for almost a good 2 decades now and to reiterate what someone else said, I do think this is the most action it's seen lol. It's also tempting me to come up with a track this week and wanting to promote it through the list just for the sake of shitposting. I've never really been bothered by the content here full-on knowing I can unsub. I also expected the content to change some in that when I signed up to the list, that was like almost 20 years ago when the question was "omg how ever am i going to find out about new aphex? this music is still so obscure & cutting edge!" and only parts of the internet knew or cared back then and it was still not much of a thing. Which is funny, because obviously the internet knows everything now and is very much a thing. The genre may have blown up past this point but it’s not like you can just go into it a typical music store and say hey, where is your IDM section? No one was complaining about self-promotion. Most folks actually weren’t even wanting to unsubscribe. It definitely hasn’t been going on a while every year.
