First of all, we don't know which projects you do or don't know about already, and secondly, why should the gender of the music-maker in any way matter to the final outcome of the sound of the music? Good call on the first, Irene. On the second, well... umm... slim didn't actually say anything about being interested in the sound of the music as such. Earlier this year we had the great joy to have Miss Kittin DJ here in Cape Town, South Africa. I have previously taken my (now) 14-year old daughter to outdoor parties with me, but never to an actual gig, but I had promised to take her to see Miss Kittin, since she has been introduced to her music via me, her Mad Mom. On the night of the event, we had visitors in the form of friends who have emigrated to Sydney, Australia. They were here for a Christmas holiday with their 13 year old daughter and we were starting to get edgy, wanting to get ready to go to the gig. They were pretty much aghast at the thought of me exposing my tender child to the ravages of clubbing and expressed some interest in the type of music this DJ was likely to play. Well... I had no option (did !?) than to play them Frank Sinatra and Rippin' Kittin - ha ha! They were pretty much speechless (being extremely straight laced) - it's good to clear out the cobwebs sometimes, isn't it?!
