The M is half silent. I have several customer with those kind of names. Mbaria, Mbugua... My Japanese student customers get really freaked out when I can pronounce and spell their names correctly. I love it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

What about those illustrious khoisan languages? I'm sure your average person would be a bit stymied by something like "G//ani-Khwe" They certainly make romance and anglo-based languages seem a bit boring ;D -- eggytoast.com : eggtastic.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The average person is stymied by ~jive~!!! ;) btw, the Dntel album, 'Life is Full of Possibilities', is excellent. And it has vocals. The horror! The horror! ;) "Smoke too thick to breath." That album was his last and it's been awhile since its release. Looking forward to new stuff by Dntel. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Dntel seek np: Time_Space_2.1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well, the album that he did last year with Ben Gibbard (the vocalist on the track you quote above) under the name The Postal Service could be considered a companion/sequel to "Life is Full...", albeit much more on the synth-pop side of things. It's very good if you have a soft spot for the Pet Shop Boys, early Depeche Mode and the like. It's very good if you breathe, eat, or sleep. Best album of 03, hands down. Should be required by law to own it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

feh. that's what I thought when I first heard it, but then I kept hearing it again & again, and it was playing at Borders the other day and kind of got on my nerves. it's like - there's no longer any need to make more music like that. Postal Service did it, and it's pretty cool even though it's also kind of lame - Most people have a really strong initial response, but my enthusiasm waned rather quickly. At first I thought "wow. this is neat. it'd be really creative to put this in my dj sets" but then I realised that it would be trite and, er - corny to spin this one, so I passed on the vinyl. good record. it's the new delerium. (hehe... just kidding) anyway, best of 2003? My vote was a tie between Diverse's One A.M. and C. Rayz Walz' Ravipops. Oh, and the two 12"s by that Take guy... -Wil M. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. DNtel is actually pronounced "Death Cab for Cutie." If you don't believe me, listen to "photobooth" by the aforementioned and then "the dream of Evan and Chan" by DNtel. See what I mean? Same producer on Death Cab, same singer on DNtel. And before anyone brings it up, I know they are the same, as with the Postal Service, I'm just pointing out...

What is the same? Not "they". They may work together, but Figurine, DCC and DNtel aren't "the same". They collaborate. Postal Service (imo) seems closer to Figurine than to either DCC or DNtel (but closer to some of the latter than the former). jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
