Andies
Andy Wake met Andy Balneaves in a lonely-hearts section of the local rag where he was looking for someone to assist in his current project 'combat wank'. Andy B, "half man half modular synthesiser", had previously gained fame as Dundee hip hop electro star Voigt Kampff (Kingsize, Penalty). Andy W, Tayside artist and synth-thief, DJed and knob-twiddled at various club nights including Dundee's Homeless. Together they form Andies and make kicking tracks like this one, a 14-minute paean to dark electronica which segues into Drexciya-like activity via some crazy beatboxing and wildlife documentry samples.
Izu
Izu was raised in the Outer Hebrides by farmed salmon, and was only recently discovered in a Marks & Spencer finger buffet. Izu's music is pink, slimy and stupid - and other people have variously told him that its "music for synaesthesiacs" and "crunchy shit." At his first live gig he rocked Paisley's Club 69 until his battery went dead leaving the crowd panting for more. Check these three beauties and you'll see why. Oh, and Izu likes Labrador puppies and wants to see peace in the world. His favourite letter is 'B'.
