that won't be up until next year sometime. why go through them? or anyone else? at one time you could say it may have provided more exposure because everybody had heard of mp3.com, but now, as then, that's debateable. last time i looked at the old site, the noise level was so high, you still had to fight to be noticed, or (what they really wanted ) pay for priority placement. or just pay to have more than 3 songs up. my suggestion is to wait, get a good website going, and just put your music or soundclips there. d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

You can always upload mp3s to Glowdot ( http://www.glowdot.com )and point people there, if you just want a place to host for downloads... We're actually working on a mp3.com type system (without the BS) right now. A little bit like electronicscene.com without all the trance and house, if you get me... In the meantime though, we are hosting downloads. (plus anything we like gets added to the Dreamscape playlist) V, ~Rick Strom http://www.glowdot.com http://www.rick-strom.com (-- Dreamscape Radio: HIFI: http://radio.glowdot.com:8000/listen.pls LOFI: http://radio.glowdot.com:8400/listen.pls --) -----Original Message----- From: chthonic streams [mailto:chthonic@chthonicstreams.com] Sent: Saturday, December 27, 2003 11:08 AM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] mp3 hosting...

this site however really takes it's time to approve/activate your account, so you can actually upload tracks etc.. some requests don't even -get- answered (+ account activated) but hey, this is just my experience with iuma.com : ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i didn't pipe up since nobody was mentioning it 'til now, but for people deciding to put their own website up, but do large-bandwidth hosting at reasonable rates. http://5angle.com - many of you on here are undoubtedly tech-heads, but for those who may know Digital Performer like the back of their hand, but don't have the faintest clue what the difference is between CBR/S and VBR/JS, PHP and Perlmod, a DNS Registrar and a DNS Server, i can help painlessly... you're not just a number to me and your personal tech support is my cell phone, IM, email. ask me off-list for more info. thx -=dave ----- Original Message ----- From: "chthonic streams" <chthonic@chthonicstreams.com> Subject: Re: [idm] mp3 hosting...

http://www.zebox.com Zebox offers a free account which consists of a personal webpage, 3 uploaded tracks and a video. I have not experienced any problems while going through Zebox so far, we'll see when the site grows. From personal experiences, IUMA is very unreliable when it comes to getting your response. I created an account through them, uploaded several tracks and never got a response from IUMA. I sent a few contact emails before giving up altogether. Not very professional IMO.
