I suspect there's many a dub listeners on the list. Dub techno comes up often but does anyone have any recent dub discoveries old or new to share? I've been bugging out on Mad Professor - Beyond the Realms of Dub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggU3OEJgCpE being the sequel to Dub Me Crazy - an album I've listened to a ton for probably two decades now - but I never checked out too much of his other stuff. Beyond the Realms is dubbed, in my opinion, WAY crazier. Great panning choices, a tight mix down and lots of color with the fx. And super memorable melodies! A real revelation. Would love to get put onto something similarly fun, bright and crazy - hit me w recs!

Here are my suggestions. *Roots* - Just about anything by King Tubby - Aswad - A New Chapter of Dub - one of my favorites and a classic in my book. - Burning Spear - Marcus Garvey / Garvey's Ghost - a split CD with half original songs and the other half versions - Linton Kwesi Johnson - LKJ In Dub - dub poet versions - Augustus Pablo - King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown - master of the melodica - Pecker - 21st Century Dub - Japanese percussionist teaming up with folks like Sly & Robbie and the I Threes on the classic ROIR label. I still have this one on cassette. (NOTE: this is not Tony Thomas) It's called Pecker Power on Spotify and here's the link: https://open.spotify.com/album/3k4137PbebhPdep4jJPDYr?si=z2ZrlQ09Rem_JsUDMgOKiA *Newer Stuff* - Disrupt - Foundation Bit - electronic dub from Germany on the Jahtari label - Rhythm & Sound - pretty much anything they put out + anything on their label + just about anything by Moritz von Oswald - International Observer - Tom Bailey from the Thompson Twins. Who would have thought. - Twilight Circus - dub project of Ryan Moore, former drummer and bassist of The Legendary Pink Dots - Dub Trio - New Heavy - session band that does metal > amazing dub tunes. Listen to Illegal Dub and give it till ~60 sec. You have to be in the mood and it’s not for everyone. On Fri, Dec 13, 2019 at 6:09 PM Chris Taylor <christaylor415@gmail.com> wrote:

Big time fan of Mr. Bill and Easily Embarrassed and just recently with Nero's Day At Disneyland. The crazier and more underground the better :) Thanks in advance (might send double, my mail app was glitching)

I’ve been on and off the list since 1994 but I don’t listen to anything like the artists you mention. I've been picking up some dub vinyl from a local store over the past few years. Some of my favs: Keith Hudson - Pick a Dub - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D22TNTExGFQ Introducing Scientist - The Best Dub Album In The World - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPDrlYDs7mI U Roy - Version Galore - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLrMeZFXFC8 a dub related scene I've also been enjoying is Lovers Rock, which was a London based reaction to the harder political side of 70s reggae, bringing much more of a soul/pop sensibility. There's a ton of good records, but i found that an older John Eden / Grievous Angel mix was an excellent introduction - https://www.mixcloud.com/SoulCoolRecords/grievous-angel-vs-john-eden-lovers-rock-mix-vol-1/ On Fri, Dec 13, 2019 at 6:09 PM Chris Taylor <christaylor415@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks for the recs all - Really dug the International Observer album "Seen" that I listened to. Very sharp sounding with a digital edge to the processing. I love that. Almost crosses the line into dodgy psy-chill but not quite. Will have to dig through the rest of his discography. Twilight Dub I've listened to for awhile now - good stuff and I had no idea he was in LPD. Trippy. Dub Trio didn't do it for me but on a somewhat similar albeit sludgier tip Blind Idiot God did some interesting records for SST before getting back together recently. Maybe more of an interesting oddity than great music but worth checking. Keith Hudson's Flesh of My Flesh Blood of My Blood is ace - can't recommend it enough. Keith Hudson is the Jim Morrison of reggae. But like if Jim Morrison was tight. On Sat, Dec 14, 2019 at 9:03 AM Thorsten Sideboard < thorsten.sideb0ard@gmail.com> wrote:
