Lately I've been getting lots of those Nigerian fraud spams. I only use the email address for the idm list, and a couple of other idm related, low traffic things. It looks to me that my email address has been harvested from the online archive. Is everyone else on the list getting the same thing? If so, can some mod be made to the addresses in the archives at least so they can't be harvested by crawlers? I know it's too late to prevent it completely, but at least we can make it harder to harvest the email addresses going forward? My goodness. I thought I was simply being targetted by Nigeria for the past 2 weeks. I've been averaging about 3-7 nigerian scams (of many various flavors) a DAY. I'm sure it has to do with the IDM-L archive that simply displays all of the list's email addresses in plain text. I haven't gotten much of anything to this address, but my old address (eggy at eggytoast dot com) is flooded. I have 3 email accounts - one I use strictly for music lists. I get scads of those things, but wasn't sure if it was from hyperreal based lists or maybe yahoogroup stuff. All of the Nigerian things are using this email account. jeff At 04:22 PM 8/20/2003, lysaabi wrote:

No - all of them are 100% legit. I have (at last tab) 3.5 billion in my account all from responding to them. The only reason I ebay so much stuff is because I need to make room for all of the newer stuff I'm buying. I have so much money that I am going to have a whole warehouse full of NEW (not that cheap-o overstock.com stuff, mind you) Queen size beds airlifted to Mr. Hime and his party pals.
