In detroit the opener was "A Grape Dope" who i think also played with
Prefuse on some trax.
Here's my vague review of the detroit show...
Wow, i didn't even think manitoba was manitoba at first, it was so
different than the album i have (the first). I thought they were the best
part of the show, esp with the video + the drummers. That was rad.
Fourtet was ok, but a bit to similar to alot of laptop/dsp. I know
i'm jaded, i hear shit like that all the time. But it was cool that he
was *very* diverse in what he played.
Prefuse was just what you might expect - slamming as fuck.
Sort of a mega mix of trax straight through. I wasn't that into the DJ...
his scratching wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good.
Amon Tobin was a bit disappointing, because he played
at least as much jungle (that he didn't write) as he did his own stuff.
It was fun, but i was hoping for at least a full set of his own stuff
finalscratched.
Sounds a bit down, but it was a very good show! Amazing turnout...
i've never been to a show of that type with anywhere near that many
people. I was so tired from the whole weekend though that i
was zonking out by the end...

show last night? He also played a live kit during the Prefuse set. Thanks
for the help. I'll post a link to pictures from the show a little later.
