I don't think Urusei Yatsura are still around. I used to go see them all
the time when i living in Glasgow circa 95-96 i think it was.
But yeah, they were awesome!
Speaking of Pavement, the new Steve Malkmus album is a real grower. That
fisrt solo one he released was pretty weak, but i really like the new one.
On a more electronic tip, i got sent a few cds this morning, that i've
been listening to - Aoki Takamas - 'Indigo Rose' on Progressive Form.
Really good, this label is just the fsckin business. I saw some of the
label heads DJ at Sonar last year and the music they were playing seemed
to stand out head and shoulders, even amongst the quality music at Sonar.
I only have one other release which is a compilation album by them, also
filled with top quality trackage.
The other really good one i got was De Portables, on k-raa-k, which is
actually quite guitar based, sorta droney post-rock chords and big bass
lines, slow drums.
ok, enough talk, must work...
