Ok... so I got a copy of Draft 7.30. Despite all my bitchiness about a high list price, the music itself is incredible. Everyone else is like a decade behind Autechre. Who the fuck knows how they do it. Its hard to articulate what is so amazing about it, but the feel of it is immediately easier to get into than Confield. In terms of Ae reference points, it reminds me of a way better and more engaging step from the Autechre remix on Phoenecia's Oddjobs. But now I have a new gripe. Draft 7.30 seems to feature some new fangled copy protection. It completely refuses to play in MusicMatch and it won't let me rip it to mp3, which sucks because a lot of my time spent listening to music is on my iPod, commuting here and there and whatnot. I got it to work in Media Player but not without the occasional problem where it will just drop out. I don't even really have a traditional CD player (outside of a computer) in my apartment. So I feel a little shafted that I can't do what I want with a CD I legitimately purchased. Is this happening for other people or is my computer just fucked up? -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Nothing like paying more for less functionality- especially when there is probably no warning about the copy protection on the site or on the packaging. I personally don't own a traditional CD player, so I'd be screwed if I bought this- I have a PC and a DVD player (which has a CD/DVD-ROM drive). I'm willing to bet Warp wouldn't give me a refund if I purchased this, either. -- :: atomly :: [ atomly@atomly.com : www.atomly.com ...
