There are sooo many derivatives of Techno going (Detriot Techno, Minimal
Techno, Hard Techno, Deep Techno, Tech House, German Techno, Glitch Techno).
If you like Hawtin's Dex, EFX and 909 I would say your after Hard Techno,
Deep Techno and even a little Tech House.
As far as Detroit and Hard Techno goes you can't beat the Tresor label Some
Tresor artist include: Christian Vogel, Surgeon, Jeff Mills, The Advent,
Savvas Ysatis, Juan Atkins, James Ruskin, Daniel Bell, Joey Beltram. I would
also recommend Joel Mull (Lask Records), Cari Liekabush (Hybrid records)
Umek, and Oliver Ho if your into the harder German type stuff.
For new off-shoots of Tech/House (Glitch, Micro House, Dub Tech, Tech House,
Deep House) check out the labels Perlon, Context, Force Inc, Play House,
Klang, Mosaic, Kompakt, Minus, Source, Traum, Persona, Chain Reaction, to
name a few. If you really like Kompakt check out their sister label Traum.
They're very simular. Artists to check out would be Sutekh, Stewart Walker,
The Modernist, Thomas Brinkmann, Pantytec, Llumo, Akufen and Soft Pink
Truth. Also, if you haven't heard Hawtin's "DE9: Closer to the Edit" mix CD
it is full of this type of music and mixed beautifully.
Cheers and long live Techno!!!!
