No disrespect to the worthy nominees but this is a bullshit award from a corporate music conference disguised as an indie festival. Newbie bands pay to get short slots in tiny clubs while bigwigs like George Martin get the red carpet treatment to give speeches at fat cat lunches. The Canadian equivalent of a Grammy is a Juno Award. Don't take the CMW sirius-ly ;>
