I fucking swear to god... I kind of avoided this album for a while due to the initial single We Have Explosive, and all the FSOL fans saying the band is dead. Holy shit, what were those retarded fans smoking (and me, for that matter, by listening to them)? My Kingdom, State of Permanent Abyss, the title track, Yage, Glass, these are FSOL's best efforts. As rich in texture and subtlety as Lifeforms, yet with the beat drive of FSOL, it's like the culmination of the band's talents. Even We Have Explosive fits in well with the flow of the record, making the sounds and mood more diverse, and at the same time, even more thematic. Is there ANYONE here who feels the same? Or is everyone on IDM here think I'm insane? Don't get me wrong, ISDN, and especially Lifeforms, are really timeless albums, but I seriously think Dead Cities is their best. -mark --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

best. I'm right there with you. ISDN good, Dead Cities, best. Isness - well, I like it. See I think of Amorphous Androgynous as an independent musical direction from FSOL. I don't particularly consider the Isness an actual FSOL record. We have yet to see the real followup to Dead Cities. I think the Isness is a bit wishy washy. it's alright. -mark Andrew Hime wrote:

I just wish that isness was that good. it's really to bad that after such a good album they'd come out with such crap. I guess a lot of change can happen in a few years. -charlie --- Ryan Verner <xfesty@computeraddictions.com.au> wrote:

Subject: Re: [idm] Am I crazy to think that FSOL's best album was "Dead Cities?" My 2£ worth - Lifeforms - superb, best FSOL ever, Dead Cities, hmm - ok, Isness - utter pap. Too much sitar and not enough electronics - if I had heard it without knowing who it was, I wouldn'tve bought it. Rich PS - the other Amorphous Androgynous album - Tales Of Ephidrina was pretty good too.
