I prefer
http://snipurl.com/
SnipURL pre-loads the URL that one wishes shortened, as long as
one has right-click copied the URL first. Then, it is a simple 2-click
process to load the
shortened URL into your mouse: click 'Snip URL' and then click 'Copy to
Clipboard' and voila'.
A TinyURL is automatically copied to your clipboard when it's created:
it's faster than snipURL, actually.
Both tinyurl and snipurl are easier to use and faster, too, than
http://makeashorterlink.com/index.php
