Why all the fuss over major labels, economic models, profts, pricing etc.
If Sony makes a whack of cash good for them. It still doesn't change the fact that barriers to entry in the music industry are relatively low and you CAN release music via the internet and you CAN record in your bedroom and sell at bars and clubs.
Why all the damn hullabaloo about low quality music and blah blah blah. If the world embraces The Spice Girls or Elton John or Eminem or Poison or whoever.....so what? Major labels and smaller labels are able to co-exist just fine. We have no shortage of quality music the we (warning....sarcasm approaching) enlightened individuals can fawn over despite the proliferation of The Cheeky Girls.
