Hah I had to explain that to a sound guy last summer
when I was playing this relatively tame Benge track
that has this kind of static digital hissing fading in
and out of the music, while he was fiddling around
with the cables and mixer trying to fix the "problem".
Also that minute or so of white noise/ digital
abrasion is suppossed to sound that way, it's called
what "Satanstornade" or something? Great stuff if
you're into that type of thing. Lucky for the rest of
us it's only a minute long or so. The download I got
sounds a lot better than a stream for sure, except I
don't think I got the entire file, it just cuts off at
around 40 minutes.
That Windowlicker remix reminded me about Madonna, and
this new track she's done for the new James Bond
movie, anyways there's a little of that wierd
voice/kick drum hybrid that Aphex cooked up what five
years ago, on Windowlicker? It seems as though since
Madonna can't seem to get him to remix any of her lame
music and won't do any grunting pig noises for his
music, she's resorting to plagerism now. But it's a
really great track, you know, if you like that type of
thing.
