Agreed that the drukqs is more Satie than Cage.
However, the thread reminded me to recommend his writing, which,
though I've listened to a lot of Cage, I must say I prefer to the music.
"Silence" is a great starter. -Completely- relates to this list, has a
special prophetic nod to ambient and is also quite funny...and stylish.
on the Satie note....regard that most of the Angel records releases
are budget, or at least cheaper than you'd expect.
on the Wim Mertens note, a fave is "Maximizing the Audience".
Beautiful. on Crepescule I believe.
While we on a sparse piano note, Robert Haigh is pretty amazing
if you can find the stuff. -Same- Robert Haigh of Omni Trio, I believe.
However, 15 years previous to drum+bass he was doing creepy, melancholy
piano and atmospherics. Quite a catch if you can find it.
