Hi, I just received my pre-ordered copy of the Twoism re-release. Warp added some stickers (2 different kinds) and some Geogaddi postcards, nice !!! btw the CD has a black playing side (instead of silver), is this a new Warp strategy ? ;-) Anything special with the vinyl edition (since I only ordered the cd) ? __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Allow me to clarify. I was just looking for some further comment from others who already have Twoism in hand with my speculation. I was not declaring that it is impossible for this not to be a cdr (and was in fact rolling around the irony of the possibility given Warp's stance on those matters) nor was I stating that it was a cdr. Nothing to see here, move along.... :-) jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Haven't seen the BoC locally yet, but recordable CD-R media are available here at a somewhat higher price than silver/gold or blues, that have a black playing side (like some games CDs). They *do* look funky :-) but regarding specs etc. I can't say whether they perform any better. I guess (since I don't have the disc yet) that they must've used something like Sony did for PlayStation 1 games - a CD with a dark violet data side which looks almost black, but is still perfectly readable. -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Pole - Raum 4 (R) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I just checked by copy (received as a promo last week), and that appears to be the case, yes. Mad Monkey put out a comp on a black disc. I couldn't tell if it was burned or not, but I seem to recall hearing they had it pressed that way. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

my first album on rephlex called "goon" had an orange playing side, which was on purpose

I've actually always wondered if the global goon was supposed to be that odd color. I feared some weird thing like the 'disc rot' that affected some of the old nww/c93 releases had overcome my wonderful goon cd. on the black back, perhaps the twoism was professionally duped onto the black cdrs on purpose (suggested by already, I believe). don't think that would be too odd, considering the history of the release. I have a number of cdr releases (odd nosdam's no wig for ohio, at least the self release, is on the black cdr, although I believe that these guys have these professionally duped). would be a drag though if this was the case as that's $11.99 and up for a friggin cdr : ) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well, throw it in a PC's CD writer and use the "Disc/Media Info" function that most software comes with - if it's a CDr, it should say so. -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: Pole - Raum 2 Variation (R) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
