The thing that serious music fans never seem to grasp about some of the
things they love is that it may not be all that great outside of the
original context. I mean, honestly, I love old Detroit techno, and I would
probably argue that it's timeless, but whether it's timeless to anybody who
didn't really grow up with it is probably pretty long odds. Hell, even I
have a hard time listening to the OG mix of 'Strings of Life'.
As long as I'm making new friends, I might as well agree wholeheartedly with
the whine-factor comment, too.
