I just saw a commercial on TV which featured a very Herbert-esque sampled back drop of coke drinking noises (over the end of which comes a very un-Herbert-esque bad RnB gurl vocal). Given Matthew's anti corporate consumerism stance (which targets Coke, among other symbolic products), I'm wondering if this isn't a 'this for that' slap? jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Maybe not if they read the NY Times. I think it was last month that Matt Mirapaul did a fairly long article about Herbert's Radioboy Mechanics of Destruction CD and the politics surrounding it. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well, it wasn't a theory, more of a question/speculation. Given Matthew's stance though, I'm quite certain it would indeed piss him off - and that would be the "slap" I was talking about. Given that ad people are paid to have their fingers in the wind, that doesn't seem to large a logical leap. jeff re : Herbert & politics : http://www.magicandaccident.com/_MoD//home.htm At 09:31 AM 8/31/2002, kurt wrote:
