According to an interview/article in Muzik magazine of July 2002, it's FSOL under the "nom de fou" of Amorphous Androgynous (an alias under which they already released Tales Of Ephidrena some years ago). The article is titled "ISNESS AS USUAL" and sub-headed "Gary Cobain on FSOL's strange journey from acid house to spiritual enlightenment - and the maddest record of 2002". It is indeed a rolickingly mad article :-) which reports our man Cobain sleeping on a lilo in the studio and drinking his own urine and making statements such as this one: 'We're celebrating the miserable - radio pluggers, journos and A&R people dictate what records are being made. I want to present something so full of colour maybe people won't even understand it." They further promise a CD of "psychedelia mixed in a bizarre way" to follow later in the year. If you are in the US, an incorrect version of The Isness is sitting in stores. It has 2 tracks not on the 'correct' version and different mixes of several other songs and a different track order and different artwork. Snap it up while you can, if you are interested-who knows if they will be recalling the cd's or what...

They did this with ISDN in the UK. The first ones were a black cover and embossed 'FSOL ISDN', but before I snagged a CD copy (I only have the LP) they changed it to the white cover with black FSOL ISDN on it... They changed 3 tracks on each. Rich ----- Original Message ----- From: "omz" <omz@sbcglobal.net> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, August 16, 2002 10:03 PM Subject: [idm] Re: [idm-m] the isness

That was a little different. They released the black ISDN as a limited edition, then reissued it with the white cover with a slightly different tracklisting. This was a mistake, and an unsanctioned version of the new album is sitting on the shelves... -- :::my spine is the bassline::: ^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^-^ omz beautamous loaf recordings http://www.hotweird.com/loaf/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Damn! And there's me stuck in the UK with the normal copy! Apologies. I never realised the two ISDN's were deliberate. Sorry. oops. ----- Original Message ----- From: "omz" <omz@sbcglobal.net> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2002 1:11 AM Subject: Re: [idm] Re: [idm-m] the isness

I went and picked one up yesterday in Chicago. I don't know if it is an incorrect copy or a correct one, because I have no idea what the differences are between them. The release is under the name 'Future Sound of London', not 'Amorphous Androgynous', but is titled 'the isness.' It is very mellow and uses Indian sitar and percussion instruments, a very mellow album, some nice soothing guitars and vocals on some songs. I was very happy with it. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
