I've read that Ovuca is behind Astrobotnia - the main evidence to back this up (that I've found) is that he included a few of the songs in his dj set. Someone else on the list suggested that it is Aphex behind it, owing to the fact that part II has numerous Aphex-style samples. So - who do you consider to be behind it? At present, my money's on a collective.

I haven't heard too much of Part II, but I think Part I tastes much more like Aphex than Ovuca, unless Ovuca went back and raided Aphex's old sound files from his Rephlex days. I too would have to agree its some kinda collective. I know people like to say who cares, but some of do care, we're as interested in the artists as some people are baseball players, and we would like to know the mechanics behind the work like some art critics would. just kinda sick of hearing the old who cares bit On Wed, 10 Jul 2002, Roy Martin wrote:

my guess is that it's a collective too, but to be honest i don't think it's really important... enjoy the music for what it is... what do you think? /yann_g aka no_id --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

From the article about the Warp Magic Bus Tour in the newest issue of Vice- "Rephlex's Finnish dreamer Ovuca (aka Aleski Perala) the cheekboned chap behind (the) Astrobotnia project. This discussion reminds me of the one a year or so ago when the Crunch cd came out- "Isn't Crunch just the guys in Funkstorung?" "No. It's the guy who also records as Tipper." A few days pass. "Hey. Isn't Crunch just the guys in Funkstorung?"
