well, you can get a new M3D for just over $400 if you look hard enough http://www.turntablelab.com/turntables/why1200/why1200.html i wouldn't go with anything else; you'll most likely end up upgrading eventually anyways (i haven't met someone who hasn't) and don't forget a quality cartridge and slick slippy mat
