http://www.quick106.com/quick/Press.htm Just in case you needed another affirmation in the general idiocy of the world, check out Quick 106 based in Portland (and run by the puppy dogs at Clear Channel). To cater to the short attention span of today's radio listeners, they will only be playing clips of songs which will amount to a startling 426 songs being played EVERY FUCKING HOUR. I shit you not. This kind of "innovative" broadcasting could be brought to you buy a company in bed with the RIAA considering the kind of royalties one needs to pay on 426 songs an hour. Jesus... I'm still having a tough time understanding how something like this could possibly be real. Its more ludicrous than the Internet radio legislation. -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

You can listen online if you disbelieve. It's fucking hilarious. It starts playing before you even enter the answers to the reg questions... Something like this is usually a betweener on format changes, so this will probably not last. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yup. They did something similar in Seattle a month or two back when they changed the format of a "Hits of the 80s and 90s" station to "Hits of the 60s and 70s" (woo, big change there!). In fact, the website is still up (http://www.quick96.com), and is virtually indentical to this new one. They announced a bit back that there was a big announcement tomorrow at 5pm, so I expect that there'll be another format change. The songs get good for a bit at the low numbers, then bad again. They're good again right now. Good-ish. For commercial radio. Ish. Although I'd argue there's no good part of a Beastie Boys song. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
