Hi, I'm still fairly new to idm and started by checking mostly artists albums but I'm sure there must be lots of very good comps, I really like Lily of the valley. Any other comps on the crunchy melodic side ? Not so crunchy or melodic could be fine too. There is another comp that Schematic put out before Lily of the Valley. I can't think what its called. I think the Morr comp, Putting the Morr back in Morrisey, is quite good. Also Cashier Escape Routes has a nice variety. The Planet-Mu comp, Comsic Forces of Mu, is also quite and and offers a nice variety. You can get all three off of Warprecords.com. If you like clicks and cuts giltchy minimal stuff you should definately check out Mille Plateaux's Clicks_+_Cuts(v1 or v2). On Sun, 16 Jun 2002, Ubik wrote:

I'd recommend the two comps from n5md, creatively titled MD1 and MD2. If you don't have a minidisc player, m3rck released some of the tracks on vinyl. adam On 6/16/02 12:29 PM, "kingmob@nmt.edu" <kingmob@nmt.edu> wrote:

The "Vertical Forms" compilation on Vertical Form is quite tasty; the same possibly goes for the "Electric Ladyland: Clickhop Version 1.0" compilation on Mille Plateaux. -- Kurt Bernhard Pruenner --- Haendelstrasse 17 --- 4020 Linz --- Austria .......It might be written "Mindfuck", but it's spelt "L-A-I-N"....... np: DJ Shadow - Giving Up The Ghost (The Private Press) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

leaning more heavily towards the melodic rather than the crunchy/clicky side of things, i'd recommend: putting the morr back in morrissey, a morr music comp. (morr music) initial release (surgery) neurokinetic (toytronic) (cd version has better tracks than vinyl version, imo) - d ----- Original Message ----- From: Ubik <liste@noos.fr> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Sunday, June 16, 2002 5:24 AM Subject: [idm] Good comps recommendations ?

Ischemic Folks. It's been re-released so it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Three tracks from Richard Devine (first time I'd heard him, too), tracks from the Phoenecia guys (of course), lots of other stuff. That's a good comp. My favorite comp from last year was Men with Boxes on Dub Records. More melodic than crunchy, but some of everything. Dub Records kicks ass. www.clone.nl

i think my favorite compilations lately have been the two cottage industries ones from neoouija. super good variety, leaning towards the melodic side. some gorgeous crunchy pathos, stuff that just brings a lump into your throat with its swoonyness, especially cottage industries 2-annexe...mmmmm.... -rachel (aka dj pie) piesarenice.net -- <marklar> I cried that I had no lever, until I met a man with no fulcrum. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

immediate action from hefty records is tops in my book. ends up pretty much all over the place. telefon tel aviv, slicker, savath+savalas, bogdan raczynski, beneath autumn sky, more. bunch of john hughes remixes from the 'scarlet diva' soundtrack (asia argento film) essential. :mz // anonbox http://posthoc.org/ | http://anonbox.net/ | http://ecesis.org/ 'if there were three of you, which one would win?' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
