Don't know about the Locust connection, but they have one or two members of Tristeza. I saw them in LA in December. Very Pink Floyd. And not synth-y at all- bass guitar drums vocals and two organ players. Pleasant, but not really my thing- 4ADish swirly and sleepy indie rock.

I guess Jimmy Lavalle played Keyboards in The Locust for a while, and he's in Tristeza and The Album Leaf too. I dunno, they're so many bands connected to The Locust it's like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon.
