I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the Brain in the Wire 3CD set yet, and is willing to let me know what's on disc "X"? I'm fucked if I'm going to shell out some US$45 plus postage to Aus (so we're looking at a good AUD$100 I'd say) for ONE CD, given that when my May Wire mag arrives I'll have both CDs A and B. I wonder how much this silly secret thing is going to backfire on them. At least from a Wire magazine subscriber's perspective, there's no incentive whatsoever to order it. But if it had something exclusive from an artist I'm into, and I _knew_ about it, well I'd certainly order it... Gawd. If you'd preordered, it would've only been US$30. Not like it's much consolation, I suppose...

Despite the fact that the crossover of Brainwashed and Wire readers is probably sizable, I honestly don't think the percentage of Wire subscribers in the potential audience for the compiation is large enough that the anonymous nature of Disc X will "backfire" in any way. By all accounts, pre-orders were very healthy for the set, and it's likely to sell out without much trouble. The newer versions of WinAmp say they have CDDB support... but HOW do I access it? Please help! I * --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
