yeah donna! disco is dead and blackmetal is in!
friggin funny you posted this, cause i just got through listening to some
Emperor on the train this morning (Equilibrium IX)... they are so
borderline cheese, but manage to keep their integrity enough. in my recent
search for the evilist dookie on the planet i'm delving into (no, i'm not
patting my own back, i'm looking for responses, chill):
The Haunted/Made me do it
AtTheGates/Slaughter of Soul
Cradle of Filth
Sepultura
Carcass
Circle of Dead Children
Berzerker
Napalm Death
Morbin Angel
The last five are in Grindcore territory a bit. ie. just playing
obnoxiously fast, sometimes songs as short as 10 sec, with low gutteral
singing. Underground american grindcore is pretty funny right now. we saw
a show a couple months ago and most bands literaly didn't have a song over
30 secs and they were all indistinguishable (ok, i'm a little ignant...)
the fact of the matter is, if you're a musician or a music lover, blackmetal
is some awfully interesting material. these drummers can pound a doublebass
kick faster than your drum machine. these people are so passionate about
their music, it's pretty inspiring and sometimes just downright funny.
know what else i listened to this morning? no, i did not listen to Ulrich
Schnauss... i listened to DillingerEscapePlan... if you think
Fantomas:Directors Cut was wild, check out these guys Calculating Infinity
LP... it's the most immaculately butchered brutal hardcore i've found yet.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW A BLACKMETAL LIST?
