I heard that he did more of a dj set, someone said they thought he did that because the sound system was so bad...though I would have still loved to have been there! His whole set came from a sony viao and a mixer (i'm guessing it was a pioneer cdj-500 judging on its appearance and effects). If it was a dj set it was mp3s, and even then i still think most of the material was original (though i did spot some remixing of rather famous songs). I really can't say it was 100% live as i doubt very much of it was played realtime, but i can't say it was a dj set either, as there were no records, and a lot of the material seemed either original or extensiveley remixed. Yeah, I saw Autechre the other day and they seemed to be doing exactly the same thing with a powerbook each, I wish I'd found out which software they were using (Traktor maybe?) but didn't want to bother them really. As you say, its a bit in-between. actually with autechre they use a lot of generative modules lately, i'd assume with them it would be more just running max/msp patches... When i saw them last summer they used the powerbooks and nord modulars... _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
