According to some interview I read - don't remember when or where - they said they'd bought an alarm clock which had 'restproof clockwork' written on the box or manual or something, and they found it amusing (as one does) ... HOWEVER:

I was thinking of flying down to vegas for a week and then driving to l.a. to see Aphex myself, but I'm afraid the bastard'll prolly cancel. This has to do with a humorous translation of an older manual translated from japanese. It referred to a machine (I forget the exact type) that had "rustproof clockwork," which was [mis]translated as "rest proof clockwork."
