yea -I've got Silver Apples of the Moon - bought it back in '95. Saw them live with Tricky in Hollywood, back then. I forgot about the cd for a few years, and just listened to it again today, and I could see a great deal of heritance in what I listen to today. I was just curious 'cause while I've been listening to this stuff for years, I've never been "in the scene" nor cared about labels, history or sub-genres, til recently. Just wondered if anyone remebered them. yep we remember both Laika and previous band Moonshake. I dont think so I think your acctually wrong about that one as laika is 2 persons a husband adn wife team the breeders also were still around in its orginal line up in boston when laika where around... and since I saw them both play at the same time on two different stages at lolapaloza many moons ago it would have been physically impossible for the member to play on both stages at the same time... :) neil.. Actually if you look at laika's web site they have (among other things) this to say: Margaret Fiedler left her previous band, Moonshake in 1993 to form Laika with ex- Moonshake bassist John Frenett and producer / engineer Guy Fixsen who had worked with Moonshake on their early material as well as The Breeders, Throwing Muses and My Bloody Valentine. Looking at AMG (as someone suggested) reveals that Guy Fixsen has engineering credits on a breeders album.
