Well, you could consider him a one man band or you could give credit to the multiple, relatively intelligent machines that he used. The Aphex Twin, RDJ, does have schizo characteristics, so you could consider his multiple personalities and mood swings to be other members of a band. BTW, I would like to send out a thank you high-six praise explosion to the person who suggested soulseek...never heard of it and now possitively addicted. Oi. Come on, this is history here. People wore funny clothes in the 1700's, so why can't I laugh at "techno band" from 1992? They didn't know what to call it. And the one who wrote this comment didn't seem all that impressed, either. I don't know about bowing down. Not that it matters in the least... Z --- omz <omz23@speakeasy.net> wrote:

*Ahem* For the record, I never called Aphex a "techno band" in that (original) 1992 article. I believe Lander (gamera_@yahoo.com) was possibly referring to this: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=Aphex+Twin+techno+band&hl=en&rnum=9&selm=30F8DE41.4D26%40midplains.net ------- Begin Forwarded Article From: Brian Nedland (brian.nedland@midplains.net) Subject: Re: Aphex Twin Newsgroups: rec.music.industrial Date: 1996/01/14 Kit Peters wrote:

They are a Techno oriented band, Ive no idea if it is a one man band. Ive heard tid bits of their stuff and I wasnt impressed (its a fuzzy memory mind you). ------- End of Forwarded Article As for "bowing down", you just read the first-ever live review of Aphex on Usenet, courtesy of yours truly. Kneel, knave! :) 9 1/2 years on and *still* no one can touch RDJ live with a 10 foot pole ... (and rec.music.industrial people are still without clue) Thanks to Lisa, Google and my fellow Greg for dragging me out of the woodwork. - Greg --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Chaos Canaries. Its an appendage to the butterfly of Thailand whose wings cause a hurricane of chaos theory. The Canary flaps its wings and the world spins a bit faster, a driver crashes into a taxi in New York and little Johny gets his braces removed early...isn't he lucky. Aside from some interesting, unpublished electronic stuff, our basic function as the CCC (Cult of the Chaos Canary) is to register the effect of chaos on society...drop a thousand dollars worth of super bouncy balls in the SuperMall of the America...does a missile get fired in Kashmir or is there a larger then average number of births in the Ukraine. If all actions lead to reaction, a minor act from a group of people can have significant and unchangeable effects on the entire Universe. All praise the Canary, its Song is the Whirlwind. All praise the Reverand M0nk3yWr3nch, the Twister of the Universal Nipple. Oi. CC35d1 Computer Consultant #23 EVERYWHERE, AT ALL TIMES. 2065518372 On Thu, 13 Dec 2001, Lander wrote:
