I don't think you know what you're talking about. You can do everything
you need to as far as learning how to use the program and figuring out
what it can do from the demo version. I played around with the demo
version for at least 1 year before I bought the program. I don't think
it's even worth buying the full working version until you've got a good
grip on the SC language, which is not an easy thing. You're not gonna
learn anything from the full working version which you can't learn from
the demo version.
The reason I get all militant about purchasing SC is because it's the work
of one man, James McCartney, so you're not supporting some evil
corporation, and at $250 it's a relatively inexpensive program so I don't
wanna hear that shit about blowing "wads" of cash on it.
