Massive Records at Locust and Oakland is the jam. Sam Destro is the guy to talk to for IDM and Dan Doormouse for hardcore. If you're interested in noise, talk to Franjo. Also, I believe there are some club nights coming up there that have IDM, but I'm not sure of the dates right now. These guys should be able to tell you, though. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@my2way.com http://www.atomly.com/ | 877.741.3571 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Anyone who has encountered Dan Doormouse at parties around the midwest is at this moment completely gobsmacked that anyone would allow him access to the general public in a retail setting. I assume he keeps his more, err, flamboyant tendencies on the downlow at work? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Heh... Dan has actually calmed down a lot lately... He turned into a respectable businessman (with a store and two records labels) and has started writing very different music. He even has a forthcoming release on Planet Mu. But yea, Dan can still be an interesting guy at times, to use a euphomism. :) -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@my2way.com http://www.atomly.com/ | 877.741.3571 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

from NME.com: WARP RECORDS founder ROB MITCHELL has died. Mitchell, whose innovative label has launched the career of artists including Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Two Lone Swordsmen amongst many others, was seen as a visionary in the world of dance music. He is thought to have passed away over the weekend. A spokesperson for Warp Records in the UK confirmed Mitchell's death to NME.COM but is currently unavailable for comment or to confirm how he died. It is believed that he was suffering from cancer. A statement is likely to be issued tomorrow (October 10). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

or from Warp themselves: "It feels strange posting this news on our website but we want to stop any unnecessary speculation. Co-founder of Warp Records Rob Mitchell passed away on Monday morning 8th October after a hard fought battle with cancer. This is obviously a very sad time for us and all who knew Rob. Everyone here at Warp will continue to build on what Rob has given us." Sad, sad, sad. -adam __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? NEW from Yahoo!
