Erm, I believe the Boards of Canada song off Mask 500 is a different song, although since I don't own it and I didn't pay much attention when it was being discussed, I could be wrong. Either way, the Boards of Canada track is credited to Hell Interface, which isn't really Boards of Canada. The only Boards of Canada song was on Mask 100, which had "korona" on it. Considering that the theme for Mask 500 was cover songs, I could see how Hell Interface could come up with some "interesting" remixes. Wait. to answer your question: yes. but not really. does that make sense? derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- fresh like pie --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Lest we not forget -- Midnight Star also did "Freakazoid" and "No Parking on the Dance Floor" -- classic Electro-pop stuff. Way to cheesy for tightass IDM fans, but the true heads know what I'm talking about. ;-) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It isn't? I always thought Hell Interface was another alias used by Boards Of Canada. Are you saying it's not? By the way, the original song is by Midnight Star. Check out a Mask page I am working on currently: http://www.hyperreal.org/~chrism/Mask/ I need better scans of the labels... right now I'm `borrowing' the ones from the current Skam pages. No, no. It is, but it's like Boards of Canada when they're not being Boards of Canada. Sort of like how Gescom is Autechre not being Autechre (although sometimes it's not Autechre) And my original confusion was with the Gescom track, which was mildly disputed when the 12" first came out. The Hell Interface track is that Midas Touch track. I think some people were saying that the Gescom track was one of 3 different tracks. derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- fresh like pie --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Do we know for sure which one is the Gescom track? I always guessed it was the remix of "Boogie Down Bronx", but I haven't lost too much sleep over it! -- Mark Stevens http://www.insertdisc.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

another modern 80s remake question... the DMXKrew song on the Braindance comp, Glass Room... is this a remake? if it's an original, then mad props to classic smiths/joy division lyric musings... "i'm thinking of a million ways to die, emptiness inside, fill it all with lies..." what a track!
