Here's a weird coincidence, maybe a month ago I was browsing audiogalaxy and clicking on various ambient stuff to download and I hadn't gotten around to listenin to all the stuff yet and a day or two after the indident at the WTC I was listening to some new mp3s and bam I got my first taste of Muslimgauze. I really like it thought I like anything in that vein. I would think that in light of recent events his work would be more important than ever. Adam On Fri, 21 Sep 2001, Andrei wrote:

In what way ? Basically the reason I asked the question is because from what I understand he was supportive of (what's referred to in the West as) Islamic terrorist groups. Andrei

no, he was supportive of palestine in their struggle with israel. yes, there have been acts of terrorism rendered as 'support' of the palestinean cause, however, there have been equal acts of terrorism on the other side. so it's not really fair to accuse muslimgauze of supporting terrorism. here we go with the yearly muslimgauze political thread :) - wells oliver [wells@submute.net] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I just read through several of the articles available at www.muslimgauze.com and Bryn Jones stated pretty clearly that he was in favor of both terrorism and genocide. Here are a few quotes I picked out, there are many more that express similar views. "...a solution will start to appear, when the Palestinians increase the Interfadah from stones to other forms of protest, then the world might take notice, Yasser Arafat has tried peace, now it's time for a more direct form of action." - Network News Interview 1990 'Does Jones, for example, agree with outspoken accord opponent Edward Said, who found the October 23 Hamas bombing of a Tel Aviv bus a "criminal and . . . stupid" catastrophe? "They're doing what they think is right," Jones says of Hamas. "They're fighting for the people. I don't think you can criticize them from the outside." Didn't you find the attack at the very least counterproductive? "I don't think so. No. Those people have got absolutely nothing. They're working from zero. They can't vote." There must be other forms of resistance. "There isn't." ' - Village Voice Interview 1994 "EM: What do you think about Camas. and other groups like Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and Abu Nidal? BJ: Total support. Total support. Lebanon has been stolen from them, it's not as if they can vote the Israelis out so... EM: Last night a 14 year old boy with dynamite taped to his body rode his bicycle into a group of Israelis and blew himself up, killing several people... BJ: Those things will always happen until Palestine is Zionist free. There will always be legitimate targets. EM: Do you have complete animosity toward the state of Israel and its people or would you exempt certain Israelis that you might consider good people? BJ: No, I wouldn't. No, I wouldn't talk to any of them, the whole people are disgusting so no, I wouldn't. EM: Do you think there will be a complete displacement of the entire state of Israel? BJ: Yeah, the sooner the better." - Eskhatos Magazine 1995 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email alerts & NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! Well, not to carry on, but again, I don't think he quite supports terrorism. His ideas of Israelis being 'legitimate targets' is largely derived from his ideas of Israel being an occupying force and therefore warranting action. I don't think his opinions are pleasant or even really defensible, but I don't think he's an open supporter of terrorist acts. And I don't think the facts that he dislikes Israel necessarily makes him a terrorist supporter either. I also think your claim of genocide support is really off-base. He, again, holds the state of Israel in contempt for its occupation of Palestinian land and for its large-scale killing of Palestine people. Further, Israeli aggression and barbarism goes largley unnoticed in the West due to our political and financial backing of Israel, and he feels its his duty to at least in some fashion get the other side into the light. Again, I don't really mean to defend his views, because I certainly do not share them, but I think he gets painted unfairly. - wells oliver [wells@submute.net] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i've been listening to his stuff pretty heavily... personally, i feel that the pro-palestinian (& pro-arab world in general) sentiments are needed today, especially since a bunch of rednecks in the US & Canada are burning down Hindu temples and beating up people of Arabic descent. Pro-Palestine & pro-Afghan (NOT pro-taleban) are not the same as anti-israeli or anti-american ... and i think some people have trouble seeing this point of view so yeah, his work is even more important to me now. - JA! -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

At about 4pm on the 11th I was already reading emails from people in NYC reporting that Arab owned shops were being vandalized. So to answer your question, it started right away. Adam On Fri, 21 Sep 2001, omz wrote:
