don't know what it wasn't in place already.

i would think that because an airplane is pressurized, having a gun on board would be a bad idea... holes in airplanes are not good. plus all a hijacker would have to do is get the gun... my idea is that there should be videotape of people walking onto the plane, and perhaps videotape inside the plane. i think privacy is a sensitive issue, but anyone who thinks that an airplane or an airport is a private place obviously isn't using the same air transport systems i've been using. with love, gregory __________________________________________________ Terrorist Attacks on U.S. - How can you help? The reasoning behind unsecure cockpit doors is also because of air pressure. Apparently if they make the cockpit doors too secure the air pressure difference between the two sections because unmanageably different and causes problems. This is, of course, something that could change with some crucial and inventive engineering. I am not an engineer but heard discussions of this on one of the news stations the other evening. Also, there is an "air marshal" program that basically puts police officers in airplanes, and they are armed with guns. I haven't heard the discussion but there was apparently some controversy regarding having armed marshals in the airplane, especially if they would need to shoot a hijacker over the heads of passengers. A very tough situation, indeed. Things will change to be sure. But U.S. policy is probably the most necessary change. Nothing can be completely secure for the United States and still maintain a "free" society.
