I passed a Luna Music shop this morning and looked in(it was closed)......they are new on the block although they're not new to Indy..... Think I will pay them a visit when I return and observe how those goof-balls act(pretentious is an understatement)..... (I did see that new Bjork advertised everywhere-- but I'd rather purchase the new Afx...and neither will happen)....... BTW, that track by Esem on the Did U C release is smoking too....but thanks to a good trading friend I already heard it!......... -------Eastbound--------- O-jax!!

The new Bjork is brilliant -- the first album she's made in my opinion that really accomplishes what it sets out to do. It's very much on topic for IDM, but beyond the IDM-escque collaborators, it's a collection of really well-crafted, well-arranged, well-performed songs. As a matter of fact I'd say Bjork has realized her own idiosyncratic artistic vision in a way unique to pop music. The fact that it's a major label release that's being gobbled up like candy by the MTV Generation is intensely subversive. Thanks for the kind words, Jeremy, and thanks to everyone who made it out to the show. The turn-out was great, the artists and the bar staff were really happy with the evening, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We had a lot more people happy about the venue's non-smoking policy than complainers (although one guy showed up, paid cover, and then asked for his money back and left when he found out it was smoke-free). I was certainly happy to come home not stinking of cancer-stick fumes. :)

We've got plans for a few more Stained/feedback monitor events at Now Lounge in the coming months, including an artist from Winnipeg named Sinewave who does stuff similar to Amon Tobin and Manitoba (Sept 30), a stop on the upcoming Tomlab/Carpark tour (Oct 15), and a Sunday night series in November.
