just came across a sweet little record called 'take off & landing' by yoshinori sunahara and i somehow instantly fell in love with it... can't really explain why as one could misjudge it as being rather mainstream-ish at first.. but i think it's not. maybe it's because of the subtle but very funny and effective sound wankery going on or just because it's so diverse and unobtrusive... 'music for fucked up airports' is a weak attempt for a definition that came to my mind :) however... i never heard of this artist before.. any comments on how his (or her?) other work compares to this? thanx beforehand henry -- http://mp3.com/ecm "(...) music can only be recycled to music while print media is usually recycled to toilet paper." - atom(tm) GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

That would be "his". Mr. Sunahara is part of the wonderful and whacky J-Pop legends, Denki Groove (I recommend "Voxxx" highly for a wild ride). If you liked "...Landing", you'd probably also like "Crossover" - imho a stronger record (albeit in the same vein) overall. His (afaik) latest "Pan Am : Sounds of the 70s" doesn't work as well as the other two, but I like it also. Airports are a recurring theme in his work. jeff ps at one time he was subbed to this list - maybe 4 years back. At 10:01 AM 8/23/2001, you wrote:
