I am not in agreement with this 'regressing back' to earlier styles. I don't think this happens or should necessarily be called this. Even if an artist were to use exactly the same equipment set-up, the knowledge accumulated over the previous years would always result in different sounds, better production added with more pressure from the label and fans (excl. rdj). SP in theory could go back to bass induced d&b (burnin'n'tree) but he would never regress. Not very likely. Maybe he hears about some of the discussions third hand from friends , but I *seriously* doubt he reads this list. Even though Mike P pops his head in from time to time, I bet he's the exception rather than the rule. Although I would like to be proved wrong... This is really pointless drivel. No offense to the people involved, I think you're all the bees knees and I'll watch your pets for you when you're on vacation, but... Mike Paradinas is the only artist [from the early Rephlex days who has gone on to create his own label while still releasing music on Warp, Rephlex, and his own label, has a major distribution deal for the US, has released an album with Richard James, and] who still posts/reads the IDM-L. That's pretty cool. On the other hand, there are a ton of record label reps and even more artists on the list, many of whom may not even say anything, but plenty who do quite regularly. Most of the posts are so standard that they blend right in with all the other good information that, uhh, apparently isn't on the list. I see two resolutions to this.
