I think it is funny that when squarepusher released Music Is Rotted One Note that most everyone didn't like it and wished that he would go back to his previous style. Now that he has gone back to that style with Go Plastic, I am hearing a lot of complaints of it being "tiresome, boring, nothing revolutionary". Picky. picky picky fans. If Autechre went back to releasing music along the lines of Amber, would we be hearing "tiresome, boring, same as usual" or would we just *enjoy* it? I think I'd just enjoy it. I doubt groups regressing back to older styles has anything to do with what the fans want. Especially in this genre. You make it seem like the same people that were bitching about Squarepusher changing are the same people that are bitching because he went back to what he was doing before, and then on top of that; make it seem like he really gives half a turd what people on this list say about his music. No matter what, there will always be people who can't stand the new releases from IDM stalwarts like Tom J and Ae. Just be prepared for the onslaught when Drukqs comes out. I know what you mean about the squarepusher backlash, but I figured he really doesn't seem to give a fuck, and I think "Music is Rotted" is a direct example of that, personally I thought is was quality, but then i guess I'm really easy to please, if someone wants a dose of hyperbeat/funky/acid/psychadelic in the same style as some of Big Loada check out Bogdan, if you already have do it again, and again.
