Please allow me to jump in and do something a little out of
character- say something about the latest release from toshoklabs:
Caural "Initial Experiments in 3-D"
If anyone is interested in hearing a very talented newcomer in the tweaked
breakbeat sample collage style of Amon Tobin, Luke Vibert, Bogdan
Raczynski or perhaps the Ninja camp, you very well may find Caural to your
liking. It's an album that covers a lot of ground stylistically but
manages to consistently convey Zak Mastoon's (aka Caural) quirky vision.
Be on the lookout for Zak on upcoming releases on other labels (he's one
to watch!) but in the meantime this debut full length is available from
Skimo, Bent Crayon, Forced Exposure etc as well as the toshoklabs online
store.
...ok back to the regualr scheduled programming, and sorry for the promo,
I don't usually do that, but I just thought of recommending a great disc
by a not so familiar name...it's a real juicy summer listen...RealAudio on
the toshoklabs site...
