Hey people, I've just now joined this list, and I would like to get some reccomendations for bands I should give a listen to. I'm really looking for something along the lines of Squarepusher, matmos, mouse on mars, autechre, aphex twin, etc... Please forgive me if all of those mentioned don't fit in the IDM genre, I don't really know a lot about it. Naw...All you mention do fit in with IDM land. Don't worry to much about staying within' genre lines. It's all very confusing to me too. You seem to have covered a lot of ground with the artists you mentioned liking. I'm kinda interested in which albums you like most by the artists you just mentioned. That way, perhaps we can get an idea of exactly what type of music you like most. Ebola np: Fizzarum (This is good. Russian IDM a la late period Autechre)
