wow I just have to say, that full length by Zorn on Lux Nigra is phenomenal! It's called "THe City's collapsing (but not tonight)" Definitely in the top 5 for 2001. The most referential review I could give is: Imagine aphex's more restrained 4/4 melodic moments meets detroit/berlin melodic techno. Granted that's a totally unfair description, but still.. :) -Gil --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'd like to add that the cover for that record is pretty nice too. Almost akin to the one for that polygon window single, I guess ut is kinda aphexie. ____________________________________________ Adesh Deosaran Uneven Foundation T 1(718)349-1578 F 1(718)504-4010 adesh@unevenfoundation.com www.unevenfoundation.com -----Original Message----- From: Gil [mailto:gyaker@fragment.com] Sent: Sunday, June 24, 2001 3:46 PM To: IDM list Subject: [idm] Zorn wow I just have to say, that full length by Zorn on Lux Nigra is phenomenal! Yeah, I agree... Don't forget to check his/their 12'' release (under Artificial Duck Flavour alias) on Lux Nigra, "Knottel remixes", by Arovane, Thaddi, Geiom, ADF... One of the most exciting 12'' this year also... vince At 18:46 24/06/01 -0400, you wrote:

zorn is not a group, it's one guy called michael zorn. as a surname, it can't be THAT uncommon. there was a swedish paiter named anders zorn, famous for depicting big-bottomed girls in the bath. at the risk of sounding grumpy, i must say i didn't find the "the city's collapsing (but not tonight)" album very interesting. techno with a rather bland idm tinge. i suppose it's nice enough, but it's a bit too straightforward for me, and i feel it lacks depth. it doesn't sound new and exiting. on a more positive note, the new release of rogervanlunteren's "tmæins" (heimelektro ulm) is massive. everybody should own this. hs -- _________________________________ usa is environmentally unfriendly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hi IDM'ers. I'm just about to ship my studio across the Atlantic Ocean. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or warnings about what works, and what doesn't. I'm going for air freight at the moment. Perhaps someone has experience with a particular company that was cool. I want it to be picked up from Amsterdam and delivered to my door in SF... =) a. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
