Wish this weren't the case but that Burial material is deeply disappointing. Just mega cheesy. I hope to hear some material of his that drops the trance-y leads and the treated vocals. I do think that the despite drawing from fairly similar sound sources, the beatless/concrete sections have gotten to be more rich and interesting. I like the new Burial tracks. I think they're more melodically deep than previous work. I am tempted to run them through a vinyl restoration plugin and see what they're like. The idea of cutting vinyl with surface noise already in the source audio seems kind of ridiculous. On Tue, Nov 29, 2016 at 8:45 AM Chris Taylor <christaylor415@gmail.com> wrote:

Huh -it might just be a matter of taste, I find arpeggios in general to be kind of flat. Not into trance or italo for this reason. I think something like "NYC" by Burial is extremely melodically rich - much more so than the leads melodic leads on Nightmarket and Loner. Loner is a great example of the Empty-Ass Trance Glory Feel I don't care for. I feel you about the vinyl noise thing but its part of the deal - it's music that makes no bones about fetishizing the past. It would be sick if he cut really clean version of the tracks to put on vinyl and the cd had the surface noise samples. On Tue, Nov 29, 2016 at 4:13 PM, kent williams <chaircrusher@gmail.com> wrote:
