James, Yeah without actually hearing this album I am sure its top-notch especially since 3 of the tracks from it are licensed from Sense's Aural Industries release "Fourier Transformations". This has been available exclusively for the last month from s://kimo at the great price of $9.95 US. So if you want hear the 3 tracks in their original intended setting plus another 4 tracks (including the gorgeous "Advance") not appearing on Sense's "A View From A Vulnerable Place". You should contact PJ now at skimomusic@home.com and ask him if he has any copies left. What do others think of this release and the cool artwork by Antii Tpolm?? Regards, John

John, Yes, I'm aware of this release - it's mentioned on Sense's website - but until now I didn't know where to get it from. Thanks a lot for that. pietro from igloo has already mentioned to me the high quality of Adam's other releases and now I know where to get them (hopefully). Incidentally, pietro also kindly reminded be that Sense has a new release entitled "melancholica" coming out on neferiu soon (www.neferiu.com). Come on people, everyone's been talking about looking elsewhere for new artists and material rather than the same old, same old. neo ouija, delsin, deFocus, emoticon recordings etc. are all offering diverse and exceedingly high quality IDM and electronica. Go and buy some. Go on... )Jamesq.

I fully agree. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and pick up the new full length from Freescha "Kids Fill the Floor" on attacknine. While I don't think any of the individual tracks reach the level of "Bulb" from their first 12", the album as a whole is excellent. This is one of the most emotional releases I've picked up in quite some time. I actually found it excessively emotional at first listen, but since about the third time round the turn table i've hardly been listening to anything else. the comparison's to BoC are inevitable and probably justified. But Freeshca really do stand on their own as artists - if only because they take emotion even further than BoC does (IMO). and for those of you who produce "emotional" electronic music, the Freescha boys are looking for submissions from artists to release on their attacknine label. http://www.attacknine.com/maingrid-news.html to plug another "emotional" record - styrofoam's "a short album about murder" is another recent fav of mine. does anyone else find this to be one of the first really successful meldings of vocals with IDM? the lo-fi quality of the vocals reminds me of some indie rock bands i used to listen to. and the vocals contrast nicely with the excellent production. this release is far more mature than "point misser" IMHO. oh yeah - sense's "fourier transmissions" is also a great release. i particularly enjoy "the ear of the be hearer" - a great title, and perhaps a thought the posters to the Ae and IDM/art threads should consider. ;-) - d NetZero Platinum No Banner Ads and Unlimited Access Sign Up Today - Only $9.95 per month! http://www.netzero.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I agree..."a short album about murder" is great record, and in my opinion, much more interesting than "the point misser", largely due to the vocals. another recommendation I'd make for good idm-ish stuff with good vocals is scarcubem. not all of their tracks feature vocals, but I tend to prefer the ones that do. they've released stuff on heimelektro as well as a couple other labels...here's a link: http://www.u-stadt.de/heimelektro-ulm/art/artist003.htm emmett. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
