...at least I really don't think so. It doesn't sound anything like them to me, not even like any of their earlier stuff. Very vaguely influenced by it, perhaps, but not to the extent that it sounds like it could be them, as claimed in a few places recently. On its own, it's quite nice, if forgettable, stuttery with melodies. I mean, it just sounds like musik aus strom, if that makes any sense. When I first heard it, having already read the rabble's guesses that it might be Ae, my first thought was, "well, maybe it's a solo effort by Rob or Sean, just to see what they could do separately," but even then it seems pretty unimpressive. It's good for a first effort, but I'd be mega disappointed in the artist if it turned out to be someone like Ae who have been around for a while and are capable of much more. Almost but not quite like the whole "Bola - Shapes" fiasco... the opposite, really, in my opinion. the only real hype about this is "it's ultra-anonymous" ... which is kind of cliche in this community by now. --------------------------------------------------- Get free personalized email at http://www.iname.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

...at least according to Mike Paradinas' chart on the planet mu site. And considering Mr Paradinas has remixed Tipper, I'd be inclined to believe him. Plus, it does (to my ears) sound a bit like Tipper. And Tipper is not Autechre, neither is the other guy in Crunch. j-a- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
